Victims of Salem

The women are the victims are the victims because they have been innocent  Abigail and the other girls start accusing everyone besides themselves of performing witchcraft. “I saw Sarah Good with the Devil! I saw Goody Osburn with the Devil! I saw…with the Devil!” Abigail eventually accuses Goody Nurse and Elizabeth, two women that have been very faithful to the practices of going to church and that Abby would have motives to accuse them of wrong-doing. Abby is the niece of Reverend Parris who has had plenty of challenges with the Nurses, who have separated themselves from Salem and began Topsfield. The Nurses supported Bayley for the position of reverend and were very disappointed when Parris took that role. Abby is seeking revenge against their disobedience they’ve taken upon her family. Abby was also the flirtatious adultress to Elizabeth’s husband Proctor, and she wants him back and getting his wife hanged for witchcraft would be an easy ticket. The most ironic is that the accusers are the ones that were in the forest singing and dancing, drinking blood, and casting spells. The women that were at home taking care of their families and the ones on trial for reading books and helping another mother raise a child. This proves that the best defense is a good offence.
